Advertising Sales Manager

Charlotte STYLE Magazine is looking for a talent, outgoing, results driven self starter as the magazine’s inaugural Advertising Sales Manager.

Purpose:

The Advertising Sales Manager has the primary responsibility of overseeing the development of advertising sales activities, materials and specialized rates to support the sales activities of the STYLE.

Results:

  • Develop the departments’ annual advertising sales goals.
  • Develop plans to achieve advertising sales goals.
  • Build relationships with potential advertisers.
  • Oversee market research to assess the magazine’s present and future position with regard to market share.
  • Work with the Public Relations Manager to promote the magazine generating advertising sales.
  • Approves and evaluates current marketing and sales programs.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to create advertising sales pieces.
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to create added value proposals to increase existing business and generate new business.

Qualifications:

Candidate must be highly motivated, highly organized and resourceful with attention to detail. Must a master multi-tasker. Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours as needed. Scene N Heard Editor /Wine N Dine

Purpose:

 

The Scene N Heard /Wine N Dine Editor leads the editorial features in the Scene N Heard and Wine N Dine department supervising the process of creating, developing, presenting and producing Scene N Heard and Wine N Dine specific content for Charlotte STYLE Magazine. Under guidance of the Editor-in-Chief, the Scene N Heard / Wine N Dine Editor is responsible for deciding the creative influence and direction that the department will pursue during a given season or issue.

 

The Scene N Heard Editor must be very knowledgeable of the Charlotte market, well-connected, outgoing, well-spoken, detail oriented, excellent journalistic skills and a self-starter. The Scene N Heard Editor attends shows and functions as well as coordinates and manages the efforts of any reporters assigned to a particular story. The Editor also attends wine tastings, shows and functions as well as coordinates and manages the efforts of any reporters assigned to a particular story.

 

Results:

  • Planning and executing photo opportunities
  • Generate story ideas
  • Manage the department budget
  • Attending events and functions locating Scene N Heard and Wine N Dine events that fit the editorial content of STYLE
  • Reviews Scene N Heard and Scene N Heard story submissions from writers and readers
  • Assigns writers to specific Scene N Heard and Wine N Dine stories

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate must be highly motivated, organized, and resourceful with attention to detail and the ability to multitask, Strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a fast paced environment are also necessary.

  • Must be very knowledgeable of the Charlotte market and well-connected.
  • Strong executive leadership skills backed by a solid and demonstrable track record

MyStyle/Stylish Careers Editor

Purpose:

The MyStyle / Stylish Careers Editor leads the editorial features in the MyStyle/ Stylish Careers department supervising the process of creating, developing, presenting and producing MyStyle/ Stylish Careers specific profiles for Charlotte STYLE Magazine. Under guidance of the Editor-in-Chief, the MyStyle/ Stylish Careers Editor is responsible for deciding the creative influence and direction that the department will pursue during a given season or issue.

 

The MyStyle/ Stylish Careers Editor must be very knowledgeable of the Charlotte market, well-connected, outgoing, well-spoken, detail oriented, excellent journalistic skills and a self-starter. The MyStyle/ Stylish Careers Editor attends shows and functions as well as coordinates and manages the efforts of any reporters assigned to a particular story.

Results:

  • Planning and executing photo shoots
  • Generate story ideas
  • Researching and developing a list of talent necessary for photo shoots
  • Manage the department budget
  • Manage fashion and hair stylists, make up artists and other photo shoot talent
  • Attending events and functions locating MyStyle/ Stylish Careers personalities who fit STYLE’s editorial content
  • Reviews MyStyle/ Stylish Careers story submissions from writers and readers
  • Assigns writers to specific MyStyle/ Stylish Careers stories

QUALIFICATIONS:

Contributing Writer

Purpose:

Writers for Charlotte STYLE Magazine produce editorial copy for the print and online version of the magazine. Our talented writers will work under the direction of the department Editor. After developing stories the Writer is responsible for pitching the story idea to the department editors to create exciting content for the magazine. Writers must do thorough research and/or conduct interviews when preparing articles as well as draw upon their personal interest and incorporate their own personality into stories to make their pieces fun, interesting and engaging to readers. This person stays on top of department trends in the Charlotte market and beyond, and may attend trade shows and press conferences.

Results:

  • Pitching feature stories to Editors using the STYLE Story Submission form
  • Communicating STYLE related content to readers via written articles.
  • Research topics of interest to STYLE readers
  • Skillfully conduct interviews when necessary for story development

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate must be highly motivated, organized, and resourceful with attention to detail and the ability to multitask. Musts have strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work in a fast paced environment are also necessary.
